An immature Long-tailed (or Reed) Cormorant perching. Long-tailed Cormorants, also called Reed Cormorants (Microcarbo africanus) are a common resident of inland waters in Southern Africa. They eat mainly fish, but also take frogs and some insects and plants. This immature Reed cormorant was perching on a dead branch at the Lower Sabie Causeway in Kruger National Park. Elevation: 287 m. Date added to IBC: April 20, 2019.
