Detalles de la observación
**mega, almost certainly the same individual that hung around Newburgh/Beacon 2 weeks ago, where it was a 2nd state record. First found by Keigan Case and Gwen Gallagher at the compost piles and relocated by Jay McGowan here. Loafing on docks with the other gulls, flew off onto Cayuga Lake right as we left. Large and heavyset 3cy gull with very smudged grayish head, beady dark eye, thick black bill with pale tip, and grayish primaries that in the evening light only contrasted slightly with the mantle. Absolutely cooked Tompkins bird, and now I feel a bit less vindicated about the 6-hour round trip to Newburgh. Seen by many, photos tba
