Song given in flight from a skylarking bird
Detalles de la observación
An amazing concentration of this species. Birds were seemingly everywhere scattered throughout the mallee as well as moving around in ones and twos over longer distances. The most typical behavior was leaving a perch, gaining altitude and then doing a skylarking flight song during the decent back to the perch. Dozens of birds were up doing this at any given time, but it was difficult to get one directly on mic, especially close to the road. Also sharp rattling calls given from birds in flight, usually in aggressive encounters. 'Pip' calls given from foraging birds in low vegetation. I only heard the 'typical' song a few times, which seemed odd.
