Black-colored hawk the same color and size as a turkey vulture (bicolored dark gray-black tail, body, head, and front half of wings, but lighter gray rear half of wings) with small white band on tail (thinner than Harris's hawk) and yellowish bill. Barney was looking up at it and all the birds hid and went silent as it circled above and then went north.
