Beobachtungsdetails
Small, black-legged peep on the upper mudflats, I suspected WESA rather than the late SESA (that hadn’t been seen here for several weeks) from long distance so I walked out a lot closer for better looks. Fairly long legged, long billed and front heavy for a peep. Female SESA can have a long bill as well but the heavy bill base and thin, drooped tip along with the overall shape and posture make me think it’s the more expected Western. I had size comparison only with Killdeer. The bird seemed healthy other than walking a bit lopsided and maybe some missing feathers on the lower belly?
