***Mega. Initially seen flying upriver from bluffs and landing in trees just upriver. Flushed a second time at approximately (26.4885465, -99.0976932) at 10:33, in wet willow thicket, when walking down muddy track to brown jay location. Vocalized once when flushed- a massive singular squawk reminiscent of a wild boar. Alit in the top of a bare snag for 3-4 minutes before flying off again to the NW. Heron identified in flight by Bryan Calk, one of the guides on the tour. (Photo of heron on tree snag is not mine.)
