Media notes
0833 hrs. One of the longer bits of song and the only one I was able to record properly. Given by male with wings shivering slightly and the female on the same tree. The male climbed up while singing. I had phished at the bird about 5 minutes prior to this,
Observation details
Initially as I entered the grove - I tried to phish out a Sykes's Warbler to get better looks and immediately a pair of WB Fantails flew in. I heard the Creeper song in the distance and ran back to the car to get my recording gear. Came back and phished more intensely, the fantails turned up again and this time, they were followed by a single Spotted Creeper which was equally curious about the phishing. Then it began to sing a couple of minutes later and I noticed a second bird that it seemed to be singing to - they continued feeding in the area for about 20-25 minutes before flying off but still audible! The song was delivered about 3 times while they were close by, and another 3 times while further away in the c30 minutes I was around. I did try and phish the pair into better views a couple of times later again, but they seemed to have lost interest.
