Media notes
NOTES: C. n. transilens - Note: Songs of this form are also heard in: 1) End of Cut 1 of Pipra coronata; 2) End of Cut 11a) of Pitylus [Saltator] grossus. Neotropical Institute Cut # 2. Bulk reel: 417 C. n. niger (by geography; bird not seen). Natural "song" phrases (the "hoot"). Quality: 2. Level: 0. 203 tape. LN. Note that this "hoot" song pattern is different from that of Cut 1. The two races are also very different in appearance! *Circumstantial evidence indicates that the "rattle" calls heard in this recording are probably of the Capito but this identification is not 100% certain. They might possibly be of a Selenidera toucan.
