Pallid Cuckoo singing near RT/BT junction, East Plot, Golds Scrub Lane. Bird perched in eucalyptus on east side of track approximately 12 m up tree on an exposed perch. Recording taken at 0700.
Observation details
At least two in the general vicinity of RT. Crippling views had around BT/RT junction where one individual approached to within 5 m completely unperturbed by our presence. Birds also ranged towards CT and also heard calling on far side of lake, as heard from the end of RT. Both birds very vocal and between them I heard the classic song, call and a vocalisation that was reminiscent of Brush Cuckoo. One bird was definitely a male. I suspect the other was a female but I'm not familiar with the vocalisations of female Pallid Cuckoo. Birds observed to chase each other around quite a bit.
