Observation details
Species of this individual determined by Craig Brelsford on the basis of the sound-recordings below. Before assigning the individual Craig sound-recorded to Martens's Warbler Seicercus omeiensis, Craig listened to recordings on xeno-canto.org, read the species accounts for Seicercus by Per Alström in Handbook of the Birds of the World Vol. 11, and downloaded Seicercus sound-recordings on the Web site of Per Alström (http://www.slu.se/link/3f8a713c5f62404dacd67c9f8762fab2.aspx). Craig also consulted a series of slides on Seicercus by Per Alström saved in PDF format and downloadable here: http://www.shanghaibirding.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Phylloscopidae-Beijing-Birdwatching-Society-nov-2012-English.pdf. The warbler Craig sound-recorded at Lama Monastery had a song that contained some trills (not as many as S. tephrocephalus, but not entirely lacking, either, as in S. soror and S. valentini). The amount of trills in the song was a strong indication that the warbler was Martens's Warbler.
