Media notes

Female at nest with hatchlings; male brought a dead lemming and passed it to the female who proceeded to feed the young. When the male presented the lemming to the female, he lowered his head and wagged it side to side 5 or 6 times, paused, and repeated this until she accepted the lemming. One time, she did not take the lemming from him, and he flew away with it. Other Behaviors: Beg, Nuzzle, Feed Mate. Habitat: Arctic Tundra. Equipment Notes: Remote mic, MS stereo, decoded through soundBlade. We set up a blind 70 feet from nest.
