Observation details
This bird was very secretive but calling repeatedly. I caught a brief glimpse of the bird from below confirming that it was a Phylloscopus warbler. I had been seeing the same species in various numbers for the last few days at Kunsan Air Base, but did not hear them vocalize until this individual. I assume these individuals (noted in previous checklists on June 6 and 7) were this same species which had a call similar to recordings of Kamchatka leaf warbler on Xeno Canto. The call was very reminiscent of the Common Yellowthroat of the United States. Previous detailed observations were of a large leaf warbler with olive green upperparts, short buff wingbars, buff white underparts, dull streaking of the breast in a few individuals, and no median crown stripe. Bird appeared to be similar to Arctic Warbler in Brazil's Birds of East Asia..
