Media notes

Bird was calling from phragmites along the edge of a drainage canal in the tidal marsh. Grass was one foot tall. Bird was about 30 meters away until 3:40 when it moved within 15 meters. Third recordist: W. Y. Brockelman. BNA: This recording contains the Primary Advertising Call (the monotonous, "kek" notes speeding up and slowing down) of a male R. l. crepitans, based on range (following BNA). See also Figure 1 of Massey and Zembal (1987. Vocalizations of the Light-footed Clapper Rail. J. Field Ornithol. 58:32-40). (CAM - 6 April 2005). Habitat: Wetland, Marine, Salt Marsh, Edge.
