Media notes
A composite of 3 cuts of contact calls, alarm calls and whistles, and crashing through the palms by 3 Salvin's Curassows--presumably a family group--that we disturbed while walking along the Bates Trail through the floodplain forest near the river. They moved from lower levels to the treetops, slowly moving farther away. Background includes: Undulated Tinamou, Gilded Barbet, and lots of insects. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME66 short shotgun mic with an Auray Pro Matrix windshield.
Observation details
Presumably a family party, they were giving quiet contact calls and alarms and would crash through the trees, from 15’ to 40’ up. All were in adult plumage. Recorded calls and tried some photos of my lifer Salvin’s Curassows.
