Media notes
This was a male that was seen relatively well as it sang from an expose perch that was probably about 65-70 meters away and 40 meters up in the large deciduous tree (with the few scattered small, round leaves just beginning to appear in the upper branches) growing near the end of the short spur road off to the north about a kilometer beyond the logging camp. I could clearly see that this was a small euphonia with a black throat, bright yellow spot on the forehead and underparts, and apparently, white undertail-coverts. Breezy, almost completely overcast, 80° F. Equipment Notes: Sennheiser powered using phantom power and with filter in flat position and attenuator off for all recordings. Nagra input set at 2 mV / Pa and low-pass filter in flat position unless noted otherwise.
