NOTES: (Breeding Status: Territorial paired. Gen. Climate: Dry. Cover Density: Medium.) [Twenty-three songs and various calls. The 12 songs in the first part (0:06-1:00) are quite different from the 11 songs in the last part (2:14-3:18). In addition to the songs are various calls, especially in the second part. There are partial songs (1:275, 1:335, 1:38), descending "scolding" notes (1:22, 1:30), bluebird-like calls (1:48, 2:05), and Contopus-like "pips" (1:215, 1:38, 1:415, 1:445, 1:475, 1:49, 1:50, 3:26). I am less certain whether the squealing series at 1:50-2:02 was given by this species, but I suspect it was (possibly begging young?). Quality changed from 1-2 to 1-2, 2 (BEST signal is for songs at 0:06-1:00 and 2:14-3:18) - CAM - 1 June 2005]. Response to playback: Different song. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest, Montane Grassland.
