Very low frequency (about 45 Hz) booming "whoomp whoomp" repeated 5-6 times at intervals from 5 minutes to an hour or more in length. Lower in frequency than American Bittern and without its variation, but not as low as the Spruce Grouse. Recorded at 2000, 1230, and 0340 hours from about 30 feet above the swamp.
