Media notes
Four cuts of same pair stitched together. First series given from a bush after you flushed a pair, not sure by which bird. The (presumed) male had been advertising, perched on exposed branch with a large clump of green grass in his bill, calling to (presumed) female. In the third cut, I'm not sure the second series of calls is the firetail. I think so, but I wasn't clear in my verbal announcement. I think it's the call the male or female made after the female landed on the perch next to the male with his grass. In the fourth cut, presumed male on perch with grass, calling and bowing repeatedly. The pattern is that whenever the (presumed) female finally comes up, they take off in the presumed direction of the nest, then come back to this perch eventually to display some more. Grass pieces about 30cm long, display perch about 25m away from me, about 9m off the ground under tall Eucalyptus canopy.
