NOTES: Recorded on tundra atop a knoll in the foothills of the Kigluaik Mountains on the Seward Peninsula. Telinga Pro6 in cut. Alarm calls given by one individual that I believe I flushed from a nest, though I never could find one. Its behavior was stereotypical amongs most shorebirds when one approaches a nest. It would walk about in a wide circle around me and give alarm calls intermittently. Note decent bout of song before taking off at 7:30. A low sound can be heard throughout that sounds like handling noise on the Telinga handle. In fact, there was an electrical problem between the Telinga Pro6 and Sound Devices recorder. Subsequently, I switched to a Telinga Pro5B and the problem was fixed. Other Behaviors: Emit Alarm. Habitat: Tundra, Arctic Tundra.
