Media notes
Initially two individuals were flying within 100 meters of the sea cliffs. Periodically, one would appear to chase the other or at least fly together, which is when they would call most frequently and the strongest. Sea noise and road traffic from the highway interchange behind us made for challenging recording conditions.
Observation details
Engaged in courtship flight and seemingly prospecting for nest sites at these vertical rock cliffs. One initially unseen bird took off from the cliffs after we had arrived. Apparently this is the only record on eBird for this species around Santo Domingo during the boreal winter (Dec-Feb). GFS recorded the calling birds, but there was a lot of ambient city noise.
