NOTES: This is presumably the same bird recorded the previous day in cut #2001-17-05, but today I was able to get good views of it (described briefly on tape); when recorded, the bird was 15-18 meters away and 12-15 meters up at the edge of the clearing in the tall tree with small, green fruits (probably in the same tree it frequented the previous day); the bird was quite response to playback, flying all around, often perching in the open in the taller branches of the tree, and giving a similar song, though possibly a little bit more quietly; it puffed the throat out when it sang but did not display; this was recorded at the edge of scrubby forest bordering the small clearing between the stream and the road just before the sharp bend at the base of the hill; this bird began singing just as it was getting light; high thin clouds overhead, calm, 71¡ F. ML: Background subject changed from Dendrocincla fuliginosa to D. turdina tuanayi to reflect current taxonomy. --Jay McGowan 19Sep2013. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Edge.
