NOTES: A pair of birds, the male of which was well seen, foraging back-and-forth along the road, initially 15 meters away, later 5-6 meters away, and 2-4 meters up at the edge of terra firme forest in dense, 6-8 meter-tall, roadside scrub about 500 meters short of the end of the forest along the right fork of the second spur (ramal) road in the INCRA project; the first two parts of the recording contain natural song and calls, but the rest are after limited playback of themselves, in response to which the birds approached quickly and sang similar but possibly Òmore aggressiveÓ songs and some calls at a higher rate, but they also tended to remain in one place for a longer period of time, thus making them a little easier to record; I concentrated on the male in the latter part of the recording; mostly clear, calm, 75¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Mate, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Scrub.
