NOTES: Same bird as in previous recording (#05-RDAT04-03), beginning in the same general area, but during this recording the bird made a circle around me, mostly in California Sagebrush (Artemisia californica) and Black Sage (Salvia mellifera), but also Coyote Brush (Baccharis pilularis), on a moderately steep, south-facing slope of Coastal Sage Scrub along Rattlesnake Flats Trail above Coon Creek; scrub was mostly about 1-1 1/2 m-tall, with bird moving consistently but typically not seen within the scrub, except occasionally when it popped up; during this recording bird was 1-1 1/2 m up and 5 m to 15-18 m away; when seen well, it was clear that this individual had no tail; its mate was also heard, with apparent duets of sorts given on occasion; clear but slightly hazy, mostly calm at the moment, with a <5 knot onshore breeze, and in the mid-60s. Other Behaviors: Mate, Advertise, Social Context: Family. Habitat: Evergreen Forest, Chaparral, Scrub.
