NOTES: "...recorded from 1100hr to 1500hr. In this particular case the bird was remote miked, and the microphone was placed approximately 1 to 1.5 decimeters from the bird. This song perch was adjacent to a feeding station and the male was aggressively chasing other hummingbirds and returning to this perch to sing and give alarm notes." [A very long recording containing a variety of vocalizations. There are also calls and wing whirring of Archilochus alexandri scattered throughout this recording. Key vocalizations are as follows (usnig terminology of BNA): Chatter - 1:42, 2:19, 2:32, 3:16 (good), 3:24, 4:26, 4:37, 4:47, 5:02, 5:11, 6:09, 6:26, 8:11, 12:00, 12:42, 15:45, 22:04, 22:46, 23:20, and 23:57 (the above is more complete earlier in the recording but limited to better examples later). Song (only the better examples, though few are better than quality 2) - 3:44-3:47, 4:06-4:15, 4:56-5:01, 5:29-6:07, 8:07-8:10, 8:29-9:04, 16:27-16:40, 17:02-17:13, 18:20-18:30 (two abbreviated songs - quality 2-1), 18:46-18:50, 19:18-19:29 (quality 2-1), 19:47-19:55, 20:14-20:19, 20:56-21:19 (quality 2-1), 21:27-21:35, 22:27-22:34, 23:27-23:41, 25:15-25:18, 25:26-25:31, and 27:23-27:26. In general, the songs in the latter part of the recording are better than those earlier on). Chip calls (the better examples) - 9:50, 12:07-12:09, 14:01-14:08, 15:08-15:10, 15:22-15:28, 22:58-23:01, 24:01-24:07 (quality 2-1), 24:13-24:25, 24:40-24:50 (quality 2-1), 25:04-25:14 (quality 2-1), 26:21-26:23, and 27:00-27:12. Flight note - 5:21, 8:09, 10:17, 13:26, 13:47, 13:54 (good), 19:43, 21:59 (doubled) Wing whirr - 17:56-17:59. Quality changed from 2-1 to 2, 2-1 (mostly 2 earlier on, better later) - CAM - 9 December 2004].
