Media notes

Calls from a foraging juvenile in response to playback. Often would give only a single call right at the end of playback bout (echo of background audible in several segments), only occasionally gave a longer bout of calling. Best segment at 1:59, then longest bout of calling from 2:10-3:25 as the bird started looking around more and eventually took off.

Observation details

***Rare, continuing from Aug. 30, although not seen most of yesterday. First September record for the county. Foraging methodically along shoreline of spit and towards creek mouth. Eventually flew up and over park, then landed on Salt Point spit.
