NOTES: (Species Sound: frequent; Breeding Status: territorial?, breeding; Sound Delivery Rate: high; General Climate: arid; Cover Density: sparse; Strata in Habiat: song perch) [This recording combines what appear to be the "Twittering" Calls of chicks (e.g., Fig 2A of S. E. Cosens. 1981. Can. J. Zool. 59:1921-1928) with Recognition Calls (apparently given by both a male (the clear "phuk" in the background at 0:22-0:37) and a female (the nasal "punk" in the forground at 0:395-1:04). I am less certian about the sex giving the calls in the foreground at 0:07, 0:09, 0:18, 0:20, but I think they too are Recognition Calls (probably given by a male?). Quality added (1-2) - CAM - 4 March 2005]. Other Behaviors: Establish Parent Young Contact. Habitat: Wetland, Freshwater, Deciduous Forest, Creek, Riparian, Pond, Hedgerow.
