NOTES: Barbet scold is the frog-like sound with a wooden quality that, as the bird continues to call, transitions into a very harsh rasp. This barbet, not heard initially, joined the mixed species flock that was scolding a presumed predator. It assumed a crouched head-lowered, but horizontal, tail-up position while scolding. Beak was visibly open while vocalizing. Other Behaviors: Scold. Habitat: Forest, Evergreen Forest, Scrub, Edge.
