Observation details
Bird seen very well and photographed, bright rufous cap and warmer tones to upperparts compared to resident cantans JBW. But under current taxonomy it could be either Horornis diphone canturians or Horornis borealis, which can't be distinguished except by voice, and the bird was silent. Note that Japanese Birdwatchers still look at these as Manchurian Bush Warblers/チョウセンウグイス. Update 17/8/2019 : following taxonomic revision, moved to Manchurian Bush Warbler (both canturians and borealis now under this taxon)
