Observation details
I believe George Steele first found this bird. It has been lingering in this area with Canada Geese. It was conspicuously smaller than neighboring CAGO so I considered a Ross's x Snow hybrid but I think the smaller size can just be attributed to a Lesser subspecies and the neighboring CAGO are from some of the larger races. The head of the Snow Goose was wedge-shaped, the bill was not too stubby, the "grin patch" was pronounced and the base of the bill was decidedly curved.
