Observation details
Found by Larry Lewis. This species has only a few records in Chester Co (seen by LL at Chambers Lake, and Struble Lake, years past), and is rarely found away from the major rivers in PA- Susquehanna and Delaware. This Little Gull was with a small group of Bonaparte’s Gulls, who were feeding on the lake, moving around quickly, gleaning food off the surface at times. Smaller than Bonaparte’s Gull with slate gray underwing lining. Dark hood near completely molted in. Small thin black bill. White outline of wing from primaries to side. Mediocre photos embedded.
