Observation details
Young male continues around fenced garden. Phoebe sized. Medium gray upperparts, wings, and tail. Coverts thinly edged with dull white, bright red crown. Red throat and breast, white belly, red wash across vent. Sang soft trills and gave whistled peees calls. Trills somewhat like a Tropical Kingbird's calls but shorter. Rare for park - my first record here and evidently the 3rd documented record. Surprising that it took so long for one to appear given the species is regular and breeding at Mile Square Park a few miles to the northeast.
