Observation details
Two giant flocks on both sides of small road off of Salmon Creek Rd. Sounded like hundreds of rain sticks constantly being turned over - just a massive white noise. At one point a RTHA flew into a nearby tree and they all instantly quieted down before flying out en masse and then back into the trees. After about an hour or so, both flocks eventually took off in the same direction within minutes of each other. The flock photos below are of two separate flocks of at least 300 each. There were more outside of each frame so we conservatively estimated them at 650.
