Observation details
The photos aren't great but show some markings and beak color. The size and shape of the bird is similar to a gallinule, it had a reddish-orange beak with yellow tip. The Virginia Rail, Sora and Coot do not have the white markings on the wings and tail that this bird has. Marshy habitat. Gray-ish face, dark dull body. Was feeding on aquatic vegetation.
