Observation details
This individual shows some plumage characteristics that suggest NOCA-PYRR hybrid origin, but to my eye the bill seems be a fairly typical NOCA bill. At least one expert has suggested it could be a long-lived female beginning to acquired traces of male-like plumage. It appeared to be pair-bonded with male Northern Cardinal; some courtship feeding was observed.
