Media notes
The site was an ephemeral pond located on a ridge top about 12 or so meters in diameter in the Hoosier National Forest about 25 km SE of Bloomington, IN or about 2 km NW of Lake Tarzian at the Maumee Boy Scout Camp. A few hundred Wood Frogs are present in this pond, with the frogs being anywhere from about 3 meters to 12 meters from the microphones. Although the pond is primarily surrounded by oak-hickory forest, several tall pines are located nearby (probably Short-leaf Pines or Virginia Pines; planted years ago by the CCC). The air temperature was probably approaching 70 degrees F., and a significant wind can be heard in the pines. Equipment Notes: 2X Sennheiser MKH 106.
