NOTES: (Time: 5:45, 5:40. Breeding Status: Territorial. General Climate: Cyclic wet-dry. Weather: Trace breeze down mountain.) K6 in cut position. [Twenty-five songs, many of which include a short terminal string of heterospecific imitations. Most songs contain imitations of the calls of Piranga ludoviciana (in songs that begin at 0:11, 0:20, 0:36, 0:46, 0:55, 1:20, 1:29, 1:46, 2:20, 2:29, 2:39, 2:48, 2:58, 3:18, 3:29, 3:46), but there are also imitations of the calls of Loxia curvirostra (0:46, 0:55, 1:37, 1:46, 2:39, 3:29), Turdus migratorius (2:20, 2:29, 2:48, 3:37), Cyanocitta stelleri (3:18), Sitta carolinensis (3:37), Sialia mexicana (3:37), and apparently Nucifraga columbiana (0:20, 1:29, 2:20, 2:29, 2:48, 3:46) and Tachycineta thalassina (2:20). The order of the imitations appears to be quite constant, with the imitations of the Piranga almost always given first and the Loxia given last. There are a few soft, "tidilip" calls at the end of the recording (3:50-3:55). Quality unchanged (2-1) - CAM - 4 February 2005]. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Montane Grassland, Meadow.
