Media notes
NOTES: Notes: During the squeaking vocalization at the very end, the male apporached the female on a horizontal vine and the female lifted and spread one wing. It reminded me of the wing-spreading display of singing striped Kinfishers, Halcyon chalicuti. Even though these birds were very close the call was too faint and the crickets too loud to get a good cut. Tech Note: ID change suggested by Claude Chappuis and approved by Moyer. mdm. Other Behaviors: Perform Visual Display, Court, Social Context: Family. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Deciduous Forest, Second-growth.
