Observation details
Was coming out of the lighthouse when we heard a bright and short "wheep!" coming from the bushes across the walking road. We dashed over to get decent views of the staked out La Sagra's Flycatcher. Very low contrast Myiarchus. In photo below, the back is very low contrast compared to other myiarchus flycatchers. Those are the field marks I was looking for and expect. But I hadn't thought about or noticed the short primary projection. That structural mark is very apparent in this photo. The other (migrant) myiarchus species we have in the U.S. show longer primary extension to my eye.
