Observation details
Kevin McGowan: "The adult(ish) bird is a Lesser Black-backed Gull and the juvenile is a Herring Gull. The legs look clearly yellow, and there are no white spots in the outer primary tips, both Lesser characteristics. Also, dirty markings on head and relatively thin bill". Dave Nicosia: It is no doubt a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. Legs are yellow and the mantle is not as dark. The facial pattern resembles the LBBG in my opinion. I just got back from Cape Hatteras where there were loads of these guys.
