Observation details
Observed a Northern Pygmy-Owl for the first time in our location. It had captured and killed a male Pine Grosbeak. We watched it for at least 15 minutes on the lower branch of a spruce tree, eating first the head, then it removed the wings and proceeded to devour the bird. It then flew off with its remaining portion to a higher tree nearby.
