Observation details
A flock of approximately 300 parrots descended on campus this morning, spread out in olive, eucalyptus, sycamore, oak, and palm trees across roughly a half mile. The majority of the birds were Lilac-crowned Parrots in singles and pairs. Two smaller groups of Red-crowned Parrots were focusing on eating sycamore buds. They were mostly segregating spatially by species within the large, spread out flock.
