Observation details
Many photos taken. With Gentoos adjacent to main King Penguin colony. Small. Reddish beak with no pink fleshy gape. Yellow crests partially erect. Crests fuller and longer than Southern Rockhopper but perhaps not as long as a typical Moseley's Rockhopper; this bird is likely just completing its prebasic molt, so plumes are not fully grown yet. Yellow supercilium thicker than Southern Rockhopper. Apparently this bird has been present at Volunteer Point for some time.
