I believe this is from Type 2 unkinked Red Crossbills. I was first recording aimed at a crossbill sitting in top of a Tamarac tree. I started a voice announcement and then noticed that it was flying with 2 others so I continued the recording as they flew making their flight calls. High pass filter at 100 Hz used.

Observation details

These were seen and heard near out garden on Bull Rock Rd. I was mostly using the parabola for recording but I did get a quick look with binoculars and were the right size for crossbills though ID was primarily by sound and the type from the recording. From the Peterson field guide to bird sounds of eastern North America it looks like an unkinked type 2 flight calls.
