Observation details
We saw two murrelets together on the water 9 kilometers northwest of Point Buchon at 35° 18' 22" N, 120° 58' 36" W, and later a single bird that repeatedly flew in and landed in the wake 17 kilometers west-northwest of Point Estero at 35° 28' 52" N, 121° 11' 10" W. One of the former birds had the white supercilium of alternate plumage and the latter bird had an obvious patch of oil on the side of its belly.
