Observation details
First found yesterday by John Zakelj. First state record. Pictures of open wing, and both feet/legs. Here’s the text that Anthony Hertzel wrote up on it: “Bird shows no signs of either captivity or hybridization. Crest is about the right size and length for "pure" Tufted Duck, both halluces are intact (photographed), the tail is clean and unabraded, flank color and brightness indicates no evidence of hybridization, mantle is dark and without vermiculations (e.g., TUDU X scaup), and the bill looks completely normal.”
