NOTES: (Species Contact: frequent; Breeding Status: territorial paired, breeding; Sound Delivery Rate: low; General Climate: arid; Cover Density: medium; Noise Reduction: flat) First segment is male pecking at nest tree. Then, male drumming in adjacent tree. Finally, male relieving female at nest duty. I think all sounds were made by the male. Nest hole is 1m below top of broken fir, about 5m above ground, facing east. Other Behaviors: Bill Drumming, Arrive, Court, Mate, Perform Visual Display. Habitat: Forest, Evergreen Forest, Coniferous Forest.
