NOTES: David L. Ross originally archived LNS 79695 as an 11-segment recording totaling 8:09 in length. He tentatively identified the recording at the time as Scytalopus unicolor. However, a Scytalopus is only prominent in the first two segments of the analog copy of LNS 79695. The dominant sound in the next six segments of the original LNS 79695 is a Furnariid, and the dominant sound in the final three segments is a Grallaria (fide Mark Robbins). As a result, the digital version of LNS 79695 has been shortened to two segments in length, the Furnariid segments have been assigned to LNS 104396, and the Grallaria segments have been assigned to LNS 104397. -Matt Medler, 12 March 2010. ML: Subject changed from Scytalopus unicolor to S. latrans to reflect current taxonomy based on identification by Tom Schulenberg. -Jay McGowan 3Oct2013. ML: Subject changed from Scytalopus latrans to Scytalopus latrans latrans (Eastern form) on the recommendation of Niels Krabbe. -Jay McGowan, 4Oct2017.
