Neotropical Cormorant, Burnham Prairie Marsh, Photo by Bruce Heimer
Observation details
The bird has been in the area for over a week. Waited there with Bruce Heimer, Fran Morrel and Dave Antineau. Fran and Dave left to bird other spot nearby. I decided to check some spots then come back. I was less than a quarter-mile away when Bruce called me! Fran and Dave were nearby and also got to see it. The bird fed for ~10 minutes, barely on the surface for more than 3 seconds, then it chased a much bigger Canada Goose off a log and hopped up for killer views! Bruce has photos.
