Observation details
Gray, white, and brown shorebird with yellow legs, dark thick bill (very slightly upturned). The bird had a broken left leg that was missing the tarsometatarsus. This species along with Killdeer and Wilson's Snipe are the only shorebird species with late migrants to be expected in northeastern Arizona at this date. There are prior November records for this shorebird species in the region, although it is still rare this late in the season.
