Observation details
We originally (around 9 AM) observed a gull at Mounds Pool 3 which we ID'd as a Bonaparte's. Around 11AM, we observed another apparent BOGU in the Lighthouse Pool. Matt Johnstone flagged us down around 1400 and told us that the Bonaparte's-like gull at the lighthouse was actually a Black-headed Gulll. We went there immediately and photographed the rarity. Examination of photographs of the bird we had seen earlier in Mounds Pool 3 revealed that it was the same bird. Similar to Bonaparte's but larger. Red bill base. Thank you Matt Johnstone for letting us know!
